How should I remove dried wax from the unsealed travertine surface?
To preserve the natural finish and the unfilled voids of the stone, never use sharp metal tools or harsh chemical solvents to scrape away dried wax. We recommend placing the candle holder in a freezer for 15-20 minutes; the cold will cause the wax to shrink and easily pop off the stone surface without leaving residue.
How do I care for this highly porous stone surface?
Because of its natural unfilled voids and lack of chemical sealers, travertine will readily absorb liquids, and moisture or melted wax can become trapped in the surface pitting. We strictly advise keeping the stone completely away from colored cosmetics, perfumes, or wet environments. Clean the exterior only by dusting with a dry microfiber cloth or a soft brush.
Will the heavy stone pedestal scratch my furniture?
