Why does the exterior of my candle holder have prominent holes and pits?
This piece is crafted from authentic natural travertine, a sedimentary rock inherently characterized by structural voids and horizontal banding. We intentionally leave the prominent pitting on the exterior walls "unfilled" and uncoated to preserve the raw, authentic tactile nature of the stone. These textural details guarantee that your piece is a singular geological formation.
How should I remove dried wax from the unsealed travertine surface?
To preserve the natural finish and the unfilled voids of the stone, never use sharp metal tools or harsh chemical solvents to scrape away dried wax. We recommend placing the candle holder in a freezer for 15-20 minutes; the cold will cause the wax to shrink and easily pop off the stone surface without leaving residue.
How do I care for this highly porous stone surface?
Because of its natural unfilled voids and lack of chemical sealers, travertine will readily absorb liquids, and moisture or melted wax can become trapped in the surface pitting. We strictly advise keeping the stone completely away from colored cosmetics, perfumes, or wet environments. Clean the exterior only by dusting with a dry microfiber cloth or a soft brush.
Will the heavy stone pedestal scratch my furniture?
To give you complete control over surface protection and stability, the holder comes with a separate set of high-quality 3M™ clear silicone bumper pads. Applying these to the underside provides a crucial non-slip grip that safely cushions the heavy stone against delicate glass or wood surfaces.
